Finding a good chiropractor

Finding a good chiropractor

All chiropractors train for five years at university, and continue with annual professional learning.  As chiropractic is a profession with a wide variety of philosophies and techniques, it is important to find a chiropractor who meets your needs and with whom you feel comfortable.

Good Chiropractor

Consider the following points when engaging a chiropractor;

  • Initially you will want to develop a rapport with your chiropractor so they can act as a health resource for you.
  • You may want them to have clinical experience with people who have similar health needs to you.
  • You may want them to be a guide to help you regain health.
  • You will want them to have a compatible health philosophy to yourself-do you just want the pain to go away or do you want to get back in balanced shape?
  • You may know continuing education is important to stay current of the latest research and want them to keep you informed of current trends in best practice.
  • You may be interested in membership of professional associations and finally do they practice a technique that suits your body type and metabolic profile?

In summary look for a chiropractor with whom you are comfortable with, can develop a professional relationship with, who can hear your concerns, can readily explain your condition and why you require the care plan suggested, are approachable and able to address any question or concerns you have.
